MOSERS Investment Portfolio (MIP) Fund Closing

The State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Plan will be closing the MOSERS Investment Portfolio (MIP) Fund on or near June 30, 2025. This custom fund was previously frozen in June 2017 to future transfers and new contribution allocations. Due to that action, the fund has reduced in size resulting in insufficient participants and assets to maintain and share the expense of unitization.

Only state employees who currently save or have a balance in the MIP Fund will be affected by this fund closure.

Additional information and deadline dates are provided below for MIP Fund investors:

  • Existing balances in the MIP will be automatically transferred to a Missouri Target Date Fund* on or near July 30, 2025. If you want to transfer your balance out of the MIP in advance of the fund closure, you must do so before 3 pm Central Time (CT) on June 30, 2025.
  • Future contribution allocations going to the MIP/MIP Pending Credits Account, will be automatically changed to a Missouri Target Date Fund* on or near May 30, 2025. If you want to change your future contribution allocations in advance of the MIP closure, you must do so before 3 p.m. CT on May 30, 2025.
  • Please note that when changing your future contribution allocation or completing a fund transfer, you can choose from the standard fund lineup (Missouri Target Date Funds, Missouri Stable Income Fund, and the Schwab PCRA brokerage account option).

The State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Plan (MO Deferred Comp) values its participants and prides itself on being a simplified and low-cost plan for state of Missouri employees. If you have any questions regarding the closure or any deferred comp questions, please contact the MO Deferred Comp Plan Line at 1-800-392-0925.
