An Introduction to the MIP Investment Option
The MOSERS Investment Portfolio (MIP) fund option will become available to Plan participants on July 2, 2012. MIP will be a monthly valued investment option that offers Plan participants the ability to purchase units of the MOSERS investment portfolio. The following information details important MIP notes, dates and documents that you should carefully read before considering an investment in MIP.
- MIP is not FDIC insured.
- MIP is subject to risk of loss.
- MIP is not guaranteed by the state of Missouri or any other agency.
- MIP will not increase or decrease your current or future pension benefit from MOSERS.
Monday, July 2, 2012:
MIP becomes available to participants in the State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Plan. Please note, since MIP is a monthly valued fund, your purchase of MIP will reside in the MIP Pending Credits (MPCR) account until MIP's first unit value is established. Your transfer to MIP will not earn interest while it's in the MPCR. Please refer to the MIP Fund Guidelines document for more information about the MPCR and investing in MIP.
Tuesday, July 31, 2012:
Effective date of the first MIP monthly unit value, although the unit value itself will not be determined until August 30, 2012. Participants interested in investing in MIP at the July 31 monthly unit value can complete transfers and future asset allocation requests from July 2, 2012, up until 3 p.m. CDT on July 31, 2012.
Visit the Fund Information and Fees section for more MIP information.
